The French Revolution
The French Revolution began in 1789 and ended in 1799. It was a civil war between the upper class aristocrats and the lower class peasants. There were many reasons for the peasants' uprising, including raised taxes due to France's involvement in the American Revolution, debt, drought, and political unpopularity. However, one of the major contributions to the French Revolution was the enlightenment theory brought over by merchants. The enlightenment theory encourages equality between all classes, challenges ideas based in faith, and promotes the use of science. Some weapons that were used were muskets, bayonets, cannons and guillotines. Guillotines were mostly used by the peasants to behead the aristocrats.
